Welcome to Our School
Head Teacher: Mrs A. T. Dockray
On behalf of all our pupils, staff, parents and friends I extend a warm welcome to Timothy Hackworth Primary School. We are looking forward to a full and exciting year of learning in 2011/2012. Having received Rights Respecting School Level1 status from Unicef in July 2011, we were delighted to receive Level 2 status in February 2012. We are extremely proud of our children and our school. We are one of the few schools in the country to be granted this award and it is a huge achievement.
In their report the Unicef Assessors said, "Young people and adults demonstrate respect for the right of others to learn. Young people’s behaviour is thoughtful and creates a positive learning ethos in all lessons. The school is a calm yet ‘buzzing’ environment to learn in and every child we spoke to confirmed that every child placed very high value upon respecting the rights of others to learn and to be recognised as an individual with rights."
Please contact us if you would like to find out more about this award or anything else to do with our children's learning.
